Reading Ghana Seventh-day Adventist Church is Turning 20, and You’re Invited to the Celebration!
Can you believe it? Twenty years! Two whole decades of worship, laughter, tears, breakthroughs, and blessings — and Reading Ghana Seventh-day Adventist Church is still going strong, still growing, and still giving God all the glory!
If you’ve ever walked through our doors, sung with us, prayed with us, or simply heard our name — this anniversary is for you too. Because every person who has touched this church is part of the story we’re celebrating.
We Started With Faith — and God Did the Rest
Twenty years ago, a small group of Ghanaian Adventists in Reading, Berkshire, made a decision that would change lives. Far from home, in a new country, they chose not to let their faith go quiet. They gathered. They prayed. They believed.
No fancy building. No big budget. Just people with big faith and even bigger hearts — the kind of faith we Ghanaians carry in our bones, the kind our grandmothers prayed into us before we ever boarded a plane to the UK.
And God? God showed up. Every. Single. Time.
Look How Far He Has Brought Us!
From those early humble gatherings to a thriving, multigenerational church community in the heart of Reading — the journey has been nothing short of miraculous. We have watched babies grow into young leaders. We have held each other through loss and danced together in times of joy. We have welcomed newcomers fresh off the plane, still finding their feet in this country, and said:
“You are not alone. You are home.”
That is what Reading Ghana SDA has always been — a home away from home, a piece of Ghana planted right here in England.
A Story to Tell — and We Want to Hear Yours!
The theme of our 20th anniversary celebration says it all: “A Story to Tell — Come Share Your Story.”
Because here’s the truth: every single one of us has a testimony. The promotion that came through prayer. The healing that surprised the doctors. The moment you walked into this church broken and walked out with hope. The friendships that became family. God has been writing beautiful stories in our lives — and on Saturday, 27th June 2026, we are gathering to celebrate every single one of them!
Our guest speaker, Pastor George S. Dadey, will be bringing the Word — and if you know Pastor Dadey, you already know it’s going to be a powerful morning!
Ghanaians Across the UK — This One’s for You!
Whether you’re in Reading, London, Birmingham, Manchester, or anywhere across this great nation — this celebration belongs to you. The Ghanaian community has built something remarkable here in the UK, and Reading Ghana SDA is a shining part of that legacy.
